HISTORIC REESOR RANCH

2011 Cypress Hills Adventure Package

Join us for a traditional Western Canadian Ranch experience!

"Cowboy Comfort" with atmosphere and western hospitality!  Enjoy the history and heritage of our 5th generation ranch homesteaded in 1904.

Customized for your enjoyment with your choice of traditional ranch activities such as cattle drives, cattle herd health checks and brandings. Activities are set at a comfortable pace so that you can also enjoy guided hiking and horseback riding excursions on our land and into the Cypress Hills Wilderness Area with cultural, historical and nature interpretation.

Take in the simple pleasures of forest and prairies filled with unique alpine flowers and wildlife.  Diverse terrain will keep you anticipating what you'll see next at every hill crest and around every bend in the trail.

Rising 4,000 feet above sea level the Cypress Hills are the highest point between the Canadian Rockies in the West and Labrador in the East.      The ranch stands at an elevation of 4,175 ft and the view to the north spans 50 miles.

Step back in time with us, learn about the tragic Cypress Hills Massacre which led to the forming of the North West Mounted Police force and the historic March West in 1874.  Travel the same trails used by the First Nations people and pioneers of yesterday.  The Cypress Hills are unique.  They hold many Indian legends and historic sites.  Discover the buffalo wallows formed by thousands of buffalo that freely roamed these hills in times past.

The smell of coffee brewing and bacon frying is a real treat after a  full night’s rest in our comfy beds.  Tasty home cooked meals await you!  After a day filled with fresh air and the great outdoors relax on the shaded veranda with a cool drink looking out over the panoramic landscape of the Cypress Hills.  Beef steak never tasted better especially in such a setting.  Meals are prepared for all dietary requests.

Top off the evenings with cozy campfires, swapping stories and some Cowboy Poetry with your hosts.  Listen to the lonely coyote's howl and enjoy the incredible peace and quiet of life on this historic ranch.  Let the wide open spaces, cool breezes and lovely sunsets rejuvenate and refresh you.  Before a well deserved night's sleep enjoy a relaxing hot bath in our antique bathtub in the spacious ranchhouse bathroom.

What is unique about this place is that you treat your guests in the same way you treat your land and animals.  I feel that this is where your souls are.  This is my third visit and each time I see more beauty - in your ranch and in your family.  I  feel so privileged that you consider me a friend.  I plan to come back again soon so make sure you leave me some 'chores'.  P.S.
