2008 Cypress Hills Adventure Packages

Join us for a traditional Western Canadian Ranch experience!

"Cowboy Comfort" with atmosphere and western hospitality!  Enjoy the history and heritage of our 5th generation ranch homesteaded in 1904.  Customized for your enjoyment with your choice of ranch activities such as horse back riding excursions into the beautiful Cypress Hills Wilderness Area, cattle drives and traditional daily ranch operations.

Softer adventures include guided hiking tours to enjoy forest and prairies filled with unique alpine flowers and wildlife.

Rising 4,000 feet above sea level the Cypress Hills are the highest point between the Canadian Rockies in the West and Labrador in the East.      The ranch stands at an elevation of 4,175 ft.

Step back in time with us, learn about the tragic Cypress Hills Massacre which led to the forming of the North West Mounted Police force and the historical March West.  Travel the same trails used by the First Nations people and pioneers of yesterday.

The Cypress Hills are unique.  They hold many Indian legends and historic sites, beautiful scenery, wildlife such as elk, moose and deer.  Let the peace and quiet, wide open spaces, cool breezes and lovely sunsets rejuvenate and refresh you.  Venture with us on our "Kinnikinik Cliff Loop and Tipi Ring Loop Hikes" with cultural/historical/nature interpretation.  The breathtaking view of the Battle Creek Valley is amazing.  Discover the buffalo wallows formed by thousands of buffalo that freely roamed these hills in times past.

The smell of coffee brewing and bacon frying is a real treat after a  full night’s rest in our comfy beds.  Tasty home cooked meals await you!  After a day filled with fresh air and the great outdoors relax on the shaded veranda with a cool drink looking out over the panoramic landscape of the Cypress Hills.  Beef steak never tasted better especially in such a setting.  Enjoy a rejuvenating and relaxing soak in our 6 person Softub hottub.

Top off the evenings with cozy campfires, swapping stories and some Cowboy Poetry with your host Scott.  Listen to the lonely coyote's howl and enjoy the incredible peace and quiet of life on this historic ranch.

GUEST COMMENTS:   Your hospitality not only meets but, exceeds that   of our great state of Texas.  Please continue to pass to others the rich tradition  and family heritage that we all can only envy.  You have provided me not only with the grandeur of your country but a real live first hand rodeo!   Your friend, Trae Fowler, Fort Worth, Texas

What is unique about this place is that you treat your guests in the same way you treat your land and your animals....I feel that this is where your souls are.  This is my third visit and each time I see more beauty - in your ranch and in your family.  I  feel so privileged that you consider me a friend.  I plan to come back again soon so make sure you leave me some 'chores'.  P.S. Diane - don't you be going losing Scott on any more trails!  Thanks for everything.  Bonnie Thorn, Toronto, Ontario
